The Sacred Valley has the most moderate weather in the Andes which means generally sunny warm days, and cool nights.
Dressing in layers allows one to be comfortable during the cold mornings and nights, and hot middays. Andean weather is unpredictable: sunny, windy, and unexpected showers in one day.
Dress is very casual. You must be comfortable for hiking, yoga and meditation.
Allow time to rest to acclimate to the altitude.
Few tourists get altitude sickness in the Sacred Valley (9,000 ft) although it is quite common in Cusco (11,000 ft). Your body will acclimate if you rest, drink water and herbal teas for a few hours on your first day. Coramina (glucose lozenge) can be purchased over the counter, as well as Alti Vital, a natural product made of coca, muna, guarana and ginger, to relieve altitude and motion sickness.
We will be staying at spacious luxury rooms at Willka Tika. The accommodations for the retreat are double occupancy. If you prefer a single room, it would be an extra US $1100.
